This fall, sip and nibble yourself through the annual NC Musadine Festival and celebrate the harvest of the state's largest grape crop. Find two days of live music, an eclectic group of arts and crafts vendors, a variety of food options and sample more than 250 wines. Scheduled for Sept. 27-28, 2019 the event is held at the Duplin County Events Center, 195 Fairgrounds Drive, Kenansville.
The festival runs from 5 to 9pm on Friday and 10am-7pm on Saturday. Tail-gaiting has become a popular part of the annual festival with a decorating contest that brings out everybody's creativity – and sense of humor. Other events include a cooking contest, wine-making competition along with shag dancing and photography contests.
Insider tip – if you want to buy some wine or art but don't want to lug it around with you for the rest of the day, no fear … the festival vendors will package your wine and have it waiting for you at the pick-up tent near the exit.
