Ready to add a little time at the field to your summer agenda? The Coastal Plain League’s Morehead City Marlins began its 2019 season at the end of May and the East Division schedule kicks off June 1 – just in time for locals and visitors to add a little baseball to their summer plans.

The wooden bat team draws some of the nation’s hottest summer collegiate players, giving guests a great game to watch. It’s a win-win situation – players are able to improve their game and fans get to kick back, enjoy a hot dog or two and enjoy some great entertainment. To date, the league has had over 1,450 alumni drafted.

Blending the Crystal Coast’s love for baseball and billfishing, the aptly named Marlins have been putting on a great show at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City since 2010.

Morehead City, who finished with a 2018 national ranking of fifth and a 2019 pre-summer rank of

third, will play 18 contests outside of the East Division. The Marlins will make the trip to Virginia to play

the Peninsula Pilots two times and will also host them twice. Edenton and Wilson make up the other

14 non-divisional games for the Marlins.

The Marlins finished their championship season with a record of 38-14. The 38 wins were the most in franchise history.
